A
brand new winter music event, Altitude Festival, is set to be launched
in the charming village of Klosters this coming January 2012. A boutique
festival style with a winter wonderland concept will bring chic,
contemporary and occasionally slightly crazy entertainment into this
pretty Alpine village loved by Royals and skiers alike.
Here a video of Pegasus live in 2011Phenomenal
live music, hot hot DJ's, cabaret style street performers, the sun (yes
our hotline to the heavens reveals it WILL shine), gourmet food stalls,
high end pop up stores, A list stars and plentiful bars. All set
outdoors against the unique backdrop of the 300km of pistes running
across the Davos?Klosters mountains, and just ten minutes from Davos
itself, Europe’s highest town. This unique winter event also includes
entrance to watch the spectacular Klosters Snow Polo tournament and the
atmosphere will be upmarket, exciting and family friendly. There will
also be a rather unique
nightclub being built on location – the Alpine Soul Kitchen, a pop up nightclub built out of shipping containers!
In
keeping with the spirit of Klosters, a resort favoured by British high
society, Altitude’s headline act is British pop sensation Duran Duran, a
band who have sold just over 80 million records worldwide. Their music
videos for chart?topping tracks such as ‘Hungry Like the Wolf’ and ‘Rio’
were filled with exotic locations, beautiful girls and stunning
special?effects. Whilst Princess Diana declared Duran Duran to be her
favorite band – a fitting connection to Klosters, the winter resort
which is an annual holiday favourite for British royal family members.
Their 13th studio album, entitled ‘All You Need Is Now’ was written and
recorded with Grammy Award?winning producer Mark Ronson. ‘Girl Panic’ is
the new single and in true Duran Duran style the band features
supermodels Cindy Crawford, Eva Herzigova, Helena Christensen, Naomi
Campbell and Yasmin Le Bon.
Opening for Duran Duran are the Swiss pop group Pegasus from Biel whose big breakthrough came when
they recently opened for Coldplay at the Stade de Suisse. In 2010, Pegasus won a Swiss Music Award for
Best National Newcomer and the band have just released their third album, ‘Human.Technology’.
